Alcatel 5 with dual selfie cameras and metal body gets certified ahead of early 2018 unveiling

The Alcatel 5, with its tri-bezel-less aspect display, promises to be one of the most revolutionary Alcatel of recent years, and is expected to debut early in 2018, perhaps during the Mobile World Congress. His passage through the FCC certainly shows that the official launch is coming soon and had the virtue of confirming some of the general characteristics that we had already seen in the so-called TCL A5 .




With some regret, not all the features of the future Alcatel A5 are clear. The previous information leak had already confirmed the MediaTek MT6750T processor, and the 5.7-inch screen with a 18: 9 ratio, without much further delay.

The manual filtered by the FCC now confirms the presence of two front cameras with LED flash and notification light. The screen is decidedly 18: 9, with the top lip quite extensive to accommodate the previously mentioned equipment, while the base has a much less expressive edge for an inverted Xiaomi Mi Mix look.

The flanges appear to be metal, with a brushed metal back or plastic imitation face. Although this cover is removed in the images, it should be fixed. The images clearly show that removing it will require removing the top of the smartphone as well, and there is no reason to remove this cover easily since the accesses for SIM and MicroSD cards are not visible.

At the base, we can clearly see a USB-C port, with perforations on both sides, but the speaker should be mono, judging by the different configuration of the internal components. Still, with Alcatel having such a good tradition in the stereo loudspeaker I have to cross my fingers so that this posture can be maintained here, using the handset as a loudspeaker.

Last piece revealed by the pictures is the 3000mAh battery.


















Seemingly made of metal, the Alcatel A5 will be able to meet very interesting specifications for users looking for a reasonably bezel-less mid-range smartphone at an interesting price. Stay tuned to our pages to learn more.
