Common and Rev. Al Sharpton attend the funeral service for Erica Garner, 27

Hundreds of mourners gathered in Harlem on Monday to pay their final respects to activist Erica Garner, 27, who died on Christmas eve after suffering a heart attack. She was the daughter of Eric Garner, who died in 2014 after being put in a chokehold by a police officer on Staten Island. Erica was an icon for the Black Lives Matter Movement after her father's death. His final words, "I can't breathe", became a rallying cry for the movement. Public viewings for Erica were held Monday afternoon at the First Corinthian Baptist Church, followed by funeral services. Rapper Common and Rev. Al Sharpton were present at the funeral service and were photographed standing with Erica Garner’s mom Esaw Snipes. Rev. Sharpton delivered the eulogy for Erica and his social media posts throughout the day were aimed at honoring her. The service was not without controversy. Fuel scarcity, deliberate policy to impoverish Igbo — Ohanaeze

The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nwodo, has accused the Federal Government of deliberately using the fuel scarcity to impoverish Igbo people. Nwodo advised Igbo indigenes to use the Christmas period to pray for peace in the country and not to “forget to bring back their wealth to their homeland.” The Ohanaeze leader said this in his Christmas message on Saturday. He stressed that Christmas provided a good opportunity for Ndigbo to pray more to God to send succour to alleviate their sufferings in the country. He said the fuel scarcity had discouraged Igbo from travelling to the South-East to celebrate the yuletide. He said, “They (FG) know that at this period in the year, Ndigbo people travel a lot to their homeland. The Presidency has warned religious leaders and organisations in the country to refrain from divisive statements. It said the responsibility of maintaining peace and peaceful coexistence was not only the duty of the government , but also of religious organisations whose words carry weight . According to a statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Saturday , the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu , said these while speaking on BBC Ha usa Service on Friday. Shehu was responding to a statement by the Supreme Council for Sharia , accusing President Muhammadu Buhari of letting down Muslims by his failure to attend the emergency summit of Organisation of Islamic Countries called by Turkey to discuss the United States ’ declaration of Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel. December 22, 2017 –  15-Year-Old Underage Housewife Pregnant For Another Man Murders Husband With Poison 2 Weeks After Wedding Becasue He Was Deformed By Ghastly Accident In Katsina A housewife in Katsina, 15 years old, Dausiya Abdulmumini has murdered her husband, Saminu Usman, 27-years and her half brother, Muhammad Dasa after adding an allegedly poisoned substance in the dish she served her husband. However, Dausiya’s Sister-In-Law, Shafa’atu Usman, 23 years old who ate three spoons of the poisoned dish, luckily survived the incident as she was said to have been rushed to the hospital where she was treated and later discharged.
